While Sunfish has a loyal following, some customers note that seating can get cramped during peak hours, especially on Fridays. The minimal decor might not appeal to everyone, leading some to seek a more upscale dining experience. Occasionally, the fast-paced service can feel rushed, creating an atmosphere where diners might feel pressured to leave. There are also concerns about limited parking, though free street parking is available nearby. For those who crave a quieter dining environment, visiting during the busiest times may not be ideal.
I've been coming here since childhood. Eating seafood by the sea. Kind genuine service Quality Halibut - the batter is light and a little crisp. You get fish, not breading here. And your fish is fresh. Their Calamari is is my favorite place to get calamari because it is real calamari not the frozen small rings that many restaurants offer. The clam chowder is creamy and hearty. Two thumbs up 👍🏻
Plenty of seating inside and out. Fish was hot, juicy, and crispy (but not greasy). I think they gave me a lot of extra fries and fish - it was a heaping pile! Tasted great. Lots of love behind the register and in the kitchen. I saw a regular come in, and it was smiles and laughter like in a commercial :)
We are in the area on vacation and fell upon this amazing seafood spot. We ordered the cod and prawns with fries, and split it between two people to go. It was more than enough food, very fresh tasting, lightly breaded, and delicious. The two gentlemen that helped us today were extremely friendly! I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!
This is the BEST fish nd more place in Seattle. Perfectly placed at Alki Beach. We spoke to Peter, one of the owners nd he and the other gentleman were so sweet nd welcoming. You really felt like you were eating at your family's house. We ordered the cod, halibut, and prawns (all fried) they came with fries. The freshness of the fish was amazing. Don't get me started on the clam chowder, which is made fresh each day. We also had there greek salad, sooo good! I can't say enough about this place. I will 4ever go here when I'm at Alki. Thank you 4 making our 1st visit such a great one.
First time trying fish and chips about a year ago and I’m glad I came here for my first time. I love to try new places but this place is so good that I don’t even think about trying another place. The minute you bite into that delicious crispy fish I start levitating. Tartar sauce is phenomenal….. FRIES?! Breathtaking….This place makes me want to sleep in the lobby and never leave. 10/10. Salmon and halibut are my all time fav…..
So amazing! Beat clam chowder I've had in a long time. Creamy and full of clams and bite size potatoes. The fish is and chips is fantastic! Great outside seating with a view of the sound. What more could you ask for??
Tasty fish and Calamari (Kalamari) on Alki beach. Get here early especially when it’s beautiful outside and on the weekends. We love their fresh fish and prawns too! These two are so sweet and the food is delicious. They also have lots of dairy-free options! They’re so sweet you might find the tip you left in your Togo bag hahahaha
